I've tried the cold showers... but have to say I prefer the experience of the complete immersion from plunging into the cold sea. I'm lucky to love by the sea, so it's an option for as long as I can brave it ... But we all have our own preferences, so go with whatever works, I say!
Wow, I have never tried the cold sea (don't live near it, unfortunately) - I think that's next level! I hope you get to do it this winter! I do like swimming in cold mountain lakes, but that usually only happens in the summer when you can warm up in the sun afterwards...
